He works hard for his money

Can I just tell you how wonderful my husband is?  If you don’t want to hear it, click somewhere else.

As most of you know T is a part-time Guardsman with the Idaho Air National Guard.  Which should mean that he owes the guard one weekend a month and two weeks a year worth of service.  That doesn’t seem like a huge commitment above and beyond his “regular” full-time job here in Nevada.  T has been off of his “regular” job since Wednesday.  He doesn’t have to go back until Monday.  So that is 5 days off in a row.  You would think he’d get to do something fun or be productive with all the regular crap maintenance that needs to be done when you’re a homeowner.  Mind you, helped me clean and cook on Wednesday for the bunco game at my house that night, but other than that not much has happened.  That’s not a dig.  He’s been working the guard job.  You see, 2 years ago he received his commission.  He gained so much more responsibility with that promotion.  But, since the guard is in Boise and he’s here in Nevada, it makes it difficult to get things accomplished efficiently.  He has spent the last 2 days working from home and essentially not getting paid.  It is taxing for both of us.  There is always something that we don’t have time to do but really needs to get done.  There are only so many hours in each day and there needs to be time for the kids (that isn’t school work or chores), time for each other, and time for each of us to do the fun things we want to do.

I just want to give T a big shout out and let him know that I know how hard he works and I appreciate it.  Thanks, love.  I wouldn’t want to muddle through this life with anyone else.

  1. “Muddling” through life together–I can relate to this–I LOVE this. It is so refreshing to read the things you post about your appreciation to your husband. Together through thick and thin is the only way i know to make it through all that life dishes out…

  2. Aww…this is so very sweet. What a wonderful way to end the week!

My hubby and I plan to always muddle through it together! Our motto is “nobody gets out alive”… It’s true. Glad you’re so happy!

  4. T is awesome! But I already knew that! 😛
